This Blueberry-Hibiscus Chia Drink is super refreshing and actually makes for a pretty great snack. Made with fresh blueberries, refreshing hibiscus tea, chia seeds, and a bit of maple syrup for some sweetness. This Chia water is nourishing and highly nutritious. It’s sweet, smooth, the perfect thirst quencher on any hot summer day!

This Blueberry-Hibiscus Chia Drink is a refreshing, delicious and nourishing drink. It’s an easy way to have chia seeds and take advantage of all the health benefits they have to offer. This chia water is super easy to make and wonderful to indulge in.

Chia seeds are highly nutritious and have so much to offer. They are packed in antioxidants, fiber, protein, omega-3 fatty acids and more. These seeds may be tiny but they are mighty and powerful when it comes to the health benefits they have to offer.

Chia is a highly nutritious and nourishing seed. They very beneficial to consume. There are many ways to incorporate chia seeds in your diet.

What is chia water?

Chia water is one of the easiest ways to consume chia seeds. It’s also a great way to take in all the health benefits chia seeds have to offer. Making chia water consists of mixing chia and water. Then allowing it to sit in the fridge overnight. This causes the chia seeds to expand while they’re soaked in the water.

The seeds then form a gelatinous coating making them easy to drink. Adding juice and a sweetener like maple syrup or honey is a great way to add some flavor to chia water. Making it more enjoyable and can even make for a great snack.

What you need to make this Blueberry-Hibiscus Chia Drink:

Ingredients:

  • Fresh Blueberries
  • Hibiscus Tea
  • Chia Seeds
  • Water
  • Maple Syrup 

Equipment:

  • Blender
  • Strainer
  • Large Wide Mouth Mason Jar

How to make Chia Water:

  • Step 1– Combine water with chia seeds in a large wide mouth mason jar. Tightly seal jar and give it a good shake. Refrigerate overnight. 
  • Step 2– The next day, puree blueberries and strain until you get about 2/3- 1 cup of liquid and pulp is almost fully dry. Make tea according to package instructions and allow to cool off.

  • Step 3– Remove chia from fridge and add in tea, blueberries, and maple syrup. Tightly seal mason jar and give it a good shake. 
  • Step 4– Allow to chill for a few minutes. Serve and enjoy!

Tips and Substitutions:

  1. Use a large wide mouth mason jar to make your chia water- You can combine all of the ingredients in this jar, it has plenty of room and the tight lid will keep your chia water fresh. If you don’t have this kind of jar, use any container that has an airtight lid. 
  2. Substitute for maple syrup- You can use honey.
  3. Allow chia seeds to refrigerate in coconut water overnight- This will give the chia seeds plenty of time to expand. However, if you don’t want to wait that long, give it at least 2 hours in the fridge.
  4. Make tea according to instructions- Follow these instructions using two tea bags per cup of water.
