How To Make Homemade Immunity Bombs

You’ve probably heard of immunity shots before, but have you heard of Immunity Bombs? Immunity bombs are a blend of different ingredients that are known for their soothing and healing properties. Fresh oranges, lemon, turmeric and ginger are blended together and frozen into bombs. Mix with hot water to dissolve them and you have yourself a hot beverage to help soothe when you’re not feeling well. These are great to have when you are feeling under the weather and are fighting off a cold.

Add 1-2 bombs to a cup along with your favorite tea bag. I like using throat soothing teas when I’m not feeling well. Add a cup of steaming hot water and a cinnamon stick. This will make the ultimate hot beverage to fight-off any cold.

Ingredients needed to make Immunity Bombs:

  • Citrus Fruits– A combination of oranges and lemons which are both rich in vitamin c and known to boost your immune system.
  • Ginger Root– Very essential as it aids in relieving nausea, aids digestion, has anti-inflammatory properties and more.
  • Turmeric Root– A strong antioxidant, boosts both immune and digestive systems, and is also known for its anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Black Pepper– Helps boost your body’s absorption of turmeric
  • Honey– Known to help relief sore throats and coughs.
  • Filtered Water– Just to help all the ingredients get blended together.

Equipment needed to make Immunity Bombs:

  • Sphere Silicone Molds– These molds give the bombs a nice round shape. However, you can use any other kind of molds you may have like an ice tray. Just make sure each mold is about 2-2.5 inches to get a good immunity bomb ratio.
  • Baking Sheet Pan– To hold the molds in place while in the freezer.
  • Blender– Any blender will do.

How to make Immunity Bombs:

  • Step 1– Peel oranges, lemon, ginger and turmeric. Place all off the ingredients in a blender. Blend together for 40-60 seconds.
  • Step 2– Place 2 sphere silicone molds on a baking sheet pan. Pour blend into each mold filling up all the way to the top.
  • Step 3– Slowly and carefully transfer molds on sheet pan to freezer. Freeze for at least 2 hours. Remove bombs from molds and pack in a freezer bag.
  • Step 4– Take 1-2 bombs and place in a cup. Fill cup with 1 cup of steaming hot water. This will dissolve bombs. Drink as is or add cinnamon stick. Enjoy!

Tips and Substitutions:

  1. Don’t skip black pepper- Black pepper helps boost your body’s absorption of turmeric along with all it’s healing properties.
  2. Substitute for honey- If you don’t like honey or want to keep these vegan friendly, use maple syrup instead.
  3. Serve these with your favorite tea bag- Add 1-2 bombs to a cup along with your favorite tea bag. I like using throat soothing teas when I’m not feeling well. Add a cup of steaming hot water and a cinnamon stick. This will make the ultimate hot beverage to fight-off any cold.
  4. Strain your liquid before freezing– If you don’t want your bombs to have pulp, you can strain them after blending all the ingredients together and before adding the liquid to the molds.

How to serve Immunity Bombs:

The best way to serve immunity bombs is by dropping 1 or 2 bombs in a cup or mug. Pour hot water over them (about 1-2 cups of hot water). The bombs will immediately begin to dissolve and make a quick hot and comforting tea full of healing and immune boosting properties.

You can add more honey if you desire and would like your immunity bombs tea a bit sweeter. Another great way to elevate your immunity bombs is by adding 1-2 tea bags of your favorite tea. I also like adding a stick of cinnamon for more flavor and more healing properties.
