Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Wings that are perfectly crispy on the outside, while tender and juicy on the inside. Seasoned with just the right amount of lemon pepper seasoning, lemon zest, garlic, pink sea salt and black pepper. Topped with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for that last zesty kick.
Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Wings
These Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Wings are so flavorful, perfectly crispy on the outside while tender and juicy on the inside. Seasoned with just the right amount of lemon pepper seasoning, lemon zest, garlic, pink sea salt and black pepper. Best appetizer for any special occasion. Dinner parties, birthday parties, holidays, and game day. We love serving these on the Super Bowl Sunday! These wings are so easy and simple to make. No air fryer? No problem. They can easily be baked in a traditional oven too!
What you need to make Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Wings:
Ingredients:
- Chicken Wings
- Lemon Pepper Seasoning
- Lemon Zest
- Pink Sea Salt
- Black Pepper
- Garlic Cloves
- Avocado Oil
- Tapioca Flour
- Fresh Lemon Juice
Equipment:
- Air Fryer (traditional oven can be used if you don’t have one)
- Large Mixing Bowl
- Tongs
How to make Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Wings:
- Step 1– Place chicken wings in a large mixing bowl and dab dry. Mince garlic cloves and zest lemon enough to make 1 tbsp.
- Step 2– Add avocado oil to chicken wings and give them a toss. Then add lemon pepper seasoning, minced garlic, lemon zest, pink sea salt, black pepper and give the wings a good toss again making sure wings are well coated with the seasonings.
- Step 3– Sprinkle tapioca flour over seasoned wings and toss them once again until well coated with the flour.
- Step 4– Use tongs to genlty place each wing in air fryer basket. Don’t over fill basket with wings. Depending on how big your air fryer basket you will probably have to cook in batches. You want to leave enough space between each wings. Like 1/2-1 inch of space.
- Step 5– Place air fryer in air fry mode and turn temperature to 400 degrees F. Air fry for 12 minutes. Open air fryer basket and flip wings over. Air fry wings for another 8 minutes.
- Step 6– Remove chicken wings from the air fryer and place on serving platter. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over wings and serve. Enjoy!
Tips and Substitutions:
- Don’t over fill air fryer basket with wings– Depending on how big your air fryer basket you will probably have to cook in batches. You want to leave enough space between each wings. Like 1/2-1 inch of space.
- Don’t skip on using the flour- the starch from the tapioca flour is what makes these wings nice and crispy.
- Substitute for tapioca flour- arrowroot flour works just as well while keeping the wings gluten-free.
- Substitute for avocado oil- unrefined coconut oil is great too. Olive oil can be used as well.
- No air fryer? No problem- you can use a traditional oven and bake these wings instead if you don’t have an air fryer. Preheat oven at 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet pan with parchment paper. Lay prepped wings on prepped sheet pan and bake for 25 minutes. Flipping half way through baking.
Can these wings be baked in a traditional oven?
If you don’t have an air fryer, that’s not a problem. These wings can certainly be baked in a traditional oven as well. Preheat oven at 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet pan with parchment paper. Lay prepped wings on prepped sheet pan and bake for 25 minutes. Flipping half way through baking.
