Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground turkey
  • 2 green onions
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp pink sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp coconut aminos
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Start by thinly dicing green onions, mincing garlic and thinly chopping parsley. Add ground turkey to a large mixing bowl. Add prepped green onions, garlic, and parsley. Drizzle apple cider vinegar and coconut aminos, add spices; salt, pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, oregano and thyme.

  2. Mix ground turkey with all of the spices and herbs making sure they are well incorporated into the meat. Divide into 8 equal parts and shape into patties about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Preheat olive oil on a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat for a few minutes. Place the first 4 patties on the heated surface and sear patties for 4-5 minutes. Flip over and sear for another 4-5 minutes. Place thermometer in the middle of each patty and it should register at 165 degrees F. Remove patties from skillet and add the other 4 patties. Repeat searing process.
  4. Serve patties immediately on burger buns or lettuce wraps with preferred toppings. If you have any leftover patties place them in an airtight container once they are completely cooled off. Keep refrigerated for up to 3-4 days.

Recipe Notes

Tips and Substitutions:

    1. Serve immediately- Turkey burgers taste so much better right off the heat. Any leftover burgers allow to completely cool off. Place in an airtight container and keep refrigerated for 3-4 days. Reheat on skillet for better taste.
    2. Preheat skillet- Place turkey patties on a preheated hot surface. This will prevent them from sticking to the skillet.
    3. Use thermometer to take internal temperature- Stick thermometer in the middle of each burger. It should read 165 degrees F once they are done.
    4. Try grilling them!- Rub patties with a bit of olive oil on each side. Preheat grill on medium-high heat and grill each patty for 4-5 minutes on one side.
    5. Don't skip the ACV- Apple cider vinegar helps neutralize the after taste turkey meat tends to have. It will also add flavor to your burgers.
    6. Substitute for apple cider vinegar- You can use lemon or lime juice.

Substitute for coconut aminos- Use some tamari sauce.
