Instructions

  1. Start by setting any bowls you are using. Place either one medium sized bowl in the middle of your platter or two small ones with popcorn in them. Since it's a healthy snack platter for movie night, you want your popcorn to be the star of your platter. Use bigger bowls for your popcorn. Place 4 more smaller bowls spread throughout the platter surrounding the popcorn bowl. Scoop hummus into one of the bowls. Add olives, milk chocolate gems, and gummy bears in the rest of the small bowls.

  2. Next, start filling in your board with the rest of the snacks. I like to continue with the meats and cheese. Fold meats and place in between the bowls. Cube one of the bricks of cheese and slice the other. Layer them around the bowls as well.

  3. Continue with layering fruits and veggies around the rest of spaces throughout the platter. The goal is to fill in as much space on the platter as possible. You also want the platter to be colorful so try to keep all the foods with pops of color spread out evely throughout the platter and around foods the are neutral colors.

  4. Next, spread crackers and seaweed around the platter. End by adding nuts and dried fruits into any empty spaces throughout the board. These are very nice to fill in any small spaces that are left in between the other snacks.

  5. Add any other desired snacks or garnish. Serve and enjoy movie night with your family and friends!

Recipe Notes

Tips for making the ultimate Healthy Snack Platter:

    1. Make sure you have enough snacks for everyone- Whether you are making this platter for you and your family or for a larger crowd, you want to make sure you have enough snacks for everyone.
    2. Serve everyone’s favorites- Go for snacks that your family loves and eat frequently.
    3. Check your pantry and fridge first- Go through your kitchen and check for what snacks you have already first and use those. This is a great way to use up nuts, crackers, dried fruit, fresh fruit and veggies, dips, etc.
    4. Keep items bite sized- For an organized and clean healthy snack platter cut your items into bite sizes. This will make it easier for everyone to grab what they’d like without making a mess.
    5. Place food items that pair together next to each other- Keep crackers next to cheeses and jams that pair together, etc.

Garnishing and Decorating your Healthy Snack Platter:

This is the fun part! Garnishing and decorating my Healthy Snack Platter is my favorite part. Get as creative as you’d like. You don’t have to make a huge, elaborate platter. You can keep it simple if you prefer. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t make your healthy snack platter fun, pretty and colorful.

  1. Add all the colors- The more colors you use the better. You want your board to look colorful and pretty. It’s a good idea also to keep themed colors depending on the occasion or time of year you’re making your healthy snack platter board. Especially if you’re making it for the holidays.
  2. Layer snacks over each other- This not only will make more room to work with, it will also make it more aesthetically pleasing.
  3. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over certain foods- Certain foods like apples and pears will brown after being cut. Squeeze some lemon juice to prevent this from happening.
  4. Use smaller items to fill in gaps and open spaces- Use berries, small chocolate candies, dried fruits, nuts, etc. to fill in-between larger items and close out gaps or open spaces.
  5. Garnish your platter- Use edible flowers, herb sprigs, fruits, etc. to garnish your platter.
  6. Don’t forget to let your creative juices flow– Again, move things around to make everything fit better and look pretty. Have fun and get as creative as you’d like.
