  1. Make sure to drain your chickpeas and rinse them well- Canned chickpeas have this foamy liquid, rinse until the foam is gone. The foam comes from the starch that gets formed in the can. Rinsing it will make the beans easier to digest and get crunchier when roasting.
  2. Dab your chickpeas dry with a paper towel. Make sure chickpeas are completely dry so that oil along with the flavor mixtures stick to them. You also want to reduce the moisture in the chickpeas to make sure they get crunchy in the oven while roasting.
  3. Align baking sheet pan with parchment paper- This will prevent chickpeas from sticking to the pan while roasting.
  4. Try them in the air-fryer- Try making your chickpeas in the air-fryer. They come out so crispy and crunchy!

What to use Roasted Chickpeas on:

These chickpeas make for a delicious crunchy snack. They are great to munch on alone. They especially are a healthy and tasty snack for kids. Aside from an excellent snack they are also great to have in other ways like:

  • Salad topper
  • Stuff in baked sweet potatoes
  • Over rice and roasted veggies

How to store your Chickpeas:

Regardless of whichever flavor you decide to make, place your chickpeas in a mason jar. Tightly seal it and refrigerate. Keep them in the fridge for up to 5-7 days.

Meal Prepping it:

Since these chickpeas are great to snack on or to use as toppings in other meals, they are great to meal prep. If you and your family enjoy these a lot, double the batch. Use them in your kids’ school lunches, add them to a salad to add more protein and crunchiness, or just to munch on. These each take less than five minutes to prep making them perfect for meal prepping.

  1. This is perfect, Angie! As I mentioned to you elsewhere, we tried roasted chickpeas for the first time over the holidays (not very successful) – I want to give it another go sometime with your recipes, as I suspect we’ll have better (crispier AND tastier) results! 🙂
