Over processed chips are extremely unhealthy as they are loaded with empty calories, trans-fats, additives and sodium. A much better option to satisfy these cravings are nuts, seaweed, popcorn or kale chips.

They’re crunchy and you can control how much salt you put on them. This way you can satisfy those salty and crunchy cravings while indulging on a leafy green loaded with nutrients.

Ingredients needed to make Salt and Vinegar Kale Chips:

  • Curly Kale– I like using curly kale because the leaves make for cute shaped chips. You can use any other kale if you prefer.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar– You can also use other vinegars such as balsamic, rice or red wine.
  • Avocado Oil– Helps the kale chips roast evenly.
  • Pin Sea Salt– Use coarse sea salt if preferably. It gives the kale chips a great texture.

Equipment needed to make Salt and Vinegar Kale Chips:

  • Large Baking Sheet Pan– For roasting the kale chips.
  • Parchment Paper– For lining the baking sheet pan.

  • Step 4– Allow chips to cool-off a bit. Serve while still warm as is or with your favorite chips dip. Enjoy!

Tips and Substitutions:

  1. Make sure kale is completely dried- You want to make sure there’s very little moisture in your kale. Dried kale leaves will result in crunchy kale chips.
  2. Line baking sheet pan with parchment paper- This will prevent kale chips from sticking to the pan.
  3. Substitute for apple cider vinegar- You can use balsamic vinegar, red wine vinegar or rice vinegar.
  4. Try making kale chips in the air fryer- So easy and they come out so crunchy!

Salt and Vinegar Kale Chips FAQ’s:

Are kale chips actually healthy?

Yes. Kale chips are super healthy as they essentially are just kale leaves that have been roasted. They are lightly coated in avocado oil, apple cider vinegar, and pink sea salt for flavor.

Why did my kale chips get soggy?

If your kale chips are soggy is because they weren’t dry enough. If the kale laves have water on them, this will create moisture, causing them to get soggy. You also want to make sure that you don’t add too much oil or apple cider vinegar. This can make them get very soggy too.

How do they put vinegar on salt and vinegar chips?

Drizzle apple cider vinegar over kale leaves. Then use your hands to massage the vinegar into the leaves making sure they are well coated. This will give the kale chips a nice classic salt and vinegar taste.

Storing Salt and Vinegar Kale Chips:

Place any leftover Salt and Vinegar Kale Chips in an airtight container or zipper bag. Keep them refrigerated for up to 1-2 days. Please note, the longer the kale chips sit in the fridge the more wilted they will get. You can place them back in the oven for a few minutes so that they get crispy again.
