Philly Cheesesteak Sliders FAQ’s:
What’s a Philly Cheesesteak?
An authentic Philly Cheesesteak is a sandwich made with ribeye steak that’s thinly sliced and tossed with caramelized bell peppers and onions. It is then served and topped with provolone cheese or traditionally Cheez Whiz.
What kind of steak should I use for Philly Cheesesteak Sliders?
Philly Cheesesteak traditionally calls for using Ribeye steak. You can use that, or you can also use strip, skirt or flank steaks. If you are getting your steak directly from a butcher, you can ask them to cut it thinly for you. If you are getting it from the grocery store, I like to get a good piece of steak and thinly cut it myself.
Can Philly Cheesesteak Sliders be made ahead of time?
I would’t make the whole dish ahead of time. You can prep certain parts of your Philly Cheesesteak Sliders head of time. Prep your steak and marinade then let it sit in the fridge until you are ready to cook. You can also prep your green bell pepper and onions then refrigerate until ready to cook. Once you are ready to serve your sliders, cook steak and veggies through and assemble your sliders.
What to do if the tops of rolls are browning too quickly?
Because of the garlic-butter that is spread over the tops of sliders, the fat can make them start browning too quickly. If this is happening, remove sliders from the oven. Cover with aluminum foil and place back in the oven to finish baking.
Can I make Philly Cheesesteak Sliders Gluten-free?
This recipe is completely gluten-free as long as the dinner rolls you use are also gluten-free.
How to store and reheat Philly Cheesesteak Sliders:
Place any leftover Philly Cheesesteak Sliders in an airtight container. Keep refrigerated for up to 1-2 days. To reheat your sliders, place them back in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5-10 minutes. You can also place sliders in the air fryer at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 3-4 minutes. I wouldn’t recommend reheating Philly Cheesesteak Sliders in the microwave as they can get too mushy.
