Ingredients needed to make Cilantro-Lime Jalapeño Ranch Dressing:

  • Cilantro– Gives the dressing a nice herby, citrus, fresh flavor.
  • Jalapeño Pepper– Seed it for less heat or leave them in if you like more spice.
  • Mayonnaise– Substitute for plain Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
  • Milk– Use any milk of choice. I use unsweetened almond milk.
  • Spices and Herbs– Fresh dill, chives, garlic, and pink sea salt.
  • Lime Juice– Use fresh lime juice.

Equipment needed to make Cilantro-Lime Jalapeño Ranch Dressing:

  • Food Processor– If you don’t have one, you can use a blender too.
  • 16 oz Mason Jar– Or any container with a tight lid.

How to make Cilantro-Lime Jalapeño Ranch Dressing:

Fresh herbs, lime, mayo in a small glass bowl, milk in a small glass bowl, and jalapeños set on a wooden cutting board that is placed in a white countertop.
  • Step 1– Add all ingredients (with the exception of milk) in a food processor bowl. Place lid and close tightly. Turn on and pulse on high.
  • Step 2– Slowly pour milk into food processor from the top as it pulses the rest of ingredients. Continue pulsing until all ingredients are blended together and smooth texture is reached.
  • Step 3– Pour dressing into a mason jar or any container with a tight lid. Keep dressing refrigerated for up to 5-7 days. Serve over tacos, burrito bowls, fajitas, salads, etc. Enjoy!

Tips and Substitutions:

  1. Separate the cilantro leaves from the stems before blending– This will allow the cilantro to break down completely without leaving any chunks.
  2. Substitute for mayonnaise– Plain Greek yogurt or sour cream work well too.
  3. Seed jalapeño pepper for less heat– Or leave them in if you like more spice.
  4. Use a blender if you don’t have a food processor– You may have to blend it a bit longer.
  5. Use any milk you prefer– I use unsweetened almond milk which makes for a thinner dressing. If you are using a plant-based milk and want a thicker dressing, use more mayo or use less milk until desired creaminess is reached.

Variations:

  1. Use Greek yogurt for a lighter version– Substitute mayonnaise for plain Greek yogurt for a healthier version.
  2. Add more spice– Add another jalapeño to make it spicier. You can also leave the seeds in your jalapeños for even more of a kick.
  3. For a Dairy-Free dressing– Use plant-based milks like almond milk or cashew milk.
  4. Make it vegan– Use a vegan friendly mayonnaise.
