Can I make Turkey patties in advance?
Yes you can make these patties in advance. Line a container or baking sheet pan with parchment paper and place the patties over it. Cover patties with Saran Wrap or lid and keep in the fridge. Because Turkey meat is lean, it will stick to the parchment paper. Carefully remove them when ready to cook. You most likely will have to reshape them a bit.
How can I tell when turkey burgers are done?
Use a thermometer and place in the middle of each patty once they have been cooked through. It should read a temperature of 165 degrees F once they’re done.
Tips for making Turkey Burgers:
- Preheat skillet– Place turkey patties on a preheated hot surface. This will prevent them from sticking to the skillet.
- Use thermometer to take internal temperature- Stick thermometer in the middle of each burger. It should read 165 degrees F once they are done.
- Try grilling them!- Rub patties with a bit of olive oil on each side. Preheat grill on medium-high heat and grill each patty for 4-5 minutes on one side.
- Don’t skip the ACV- Apple cider vinegar helps neutralize the after taste turkey meat tends to have. It will also add flavor to your burgers.
- Serve immediately- Turkey burgers taste so much better right off the heat. Any leftover burgers allow to completely cool off. Place in an airtight container and keep refrigerated for 3-4 days. Reheat on skillet for better taste.
