Happy Friday guys! We’re up to week three of our Valentine’s Day Series and I am super excited for this week’s meal. Today I am featuring our Valentine’s Day dinner and it’s a delicious recipe. These Turkey Sliders with Beet Slaw and Mashed Avocado are the perfect family V-Day dinner. They’re packed in flavor and very easy to make too. The whole family will love it!
The heart shaped turkey patties make these sliders super festive. The beautiful color the beet slaw has also adds a special detail to make the whole dish and dinner table look Valentine’s Day ready. This meal can be whipped up in no time believe it or not. You will probably spend more time at the grocery store shopping for the ingredients than you will actually putting it together.
To make the patties heart shaped you will need a large sized heart shaped cookie cutter. Get your ground turkey ready per recipe directions below. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread your ground turkey on it. Using your heart shaped cookie cutter, cut out your heart shaped patties. As the ground turkey starts to run down, re-spread it and make more patties. Repeat this step until ground turkey is done and all turned into cute heart shaped patties.
The slaw is super easy to make too. It helps if you have a food processor because it makes the process even easier. Just shred your beets, cabbage and carrots and combine together with your chopped kale. Mix all of your dressing ingredients and pour over your veggies. Refrigerate until you’re ready to serve your patties.
The color this slaw makes it just so pretty. Like I said it is the perfect color for a Valentine’s Day meal. To me the slaw and heart shaped patties make these sliders festive, fun and a special way to enjoy this lovely day together as a family.
The only other thing this need is to make sure your table is nicely decorated for the occasion. Like I mentioned on the first week of this series, you can go to any store and buy a few decorations to put on your table. It’ll complete the day and bring all the meals you serve throughout the day together. I’m telling you, your family will have the best Valentine’s Day ever!

Valentine's Day Dinner- Turkey Sliders with Beet Slaw and Mashed Avocado
- Turkey Sliders
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 green onion (thinly chopped)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley (thinly chopped)
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp pink salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- Beet Slaw
- 1 beet
- 3 small carrots
- 2 purple cabbage leaves
- 1 cup chopped kale
- Slaw Dressing
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tsp dijon mustard
- 2 tsp raw cane sugar
- 1 tbs apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbs lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- to put together
- 1 avocado
- 10 slider buns (of your preferece)
In a food processor, shred beets, carrots and cabbage.
In a large bowl, mix shredded beets, carrots, cabbage and kale.
In a small bowl, mix all ingredients for slaw dressing and pour over shredded vegetables.
Refrigerate until slaw is needed.
While slaw is being refrigerated, in a large bowl mix all ingredients for turkey sliders.
If you want to shape them into hearts, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread all mixed ground turkey on it.
Use large sized heart shaped cookie cutter and cut out ground turkey with it.
As you start to run out of spread out turkey, grab it and roll it into a ball and re-spread again.
Repeat until ground turkey is gone and are all shaped into heart patties.
If not shaping into hearts, just scoop out with hand and shape into small patties.
Heat up a pan with olive oil and pan fry patties until they're cooked through on each side. (you can also grill them).
When patties are done cooking, mash avocado.
Slice slider buns open and build your sliders.
Place a patty, top with beet slaw, then mashed avocado.
Carefully push down slider and put a pick through the middle of each slider to keep in place.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
